Or that post-dinner slump where you are sitting there watching TV and craving carbs. Keeping your blood glucose levels level will also help you maintain a healthy weight.
But, mainstream America doesn’t always understand a low carbohydrate diet and they think you have to sacrifice flavor. But, that doesn’t have to be. There are so many delicious low recipes out there so you won’t even miss your carbs.
I consider a serving to be low carbohydrate if it has less than 20 carbohydrates. Even the Fajitas have 7 carbs per serving. Just so you know that’s where I’m coming from. I don’t believe in a no carbohydrate diet.
I don’t think it’s healthy. So I try to eat low carb, not no carb. You can easily know how many carbs are in a serving of any of my recipes by looking at the nutrition facts at the bottom of each recipe.

1. Crock Pot Chili Verde – My Natural Family
This is the best soup to make and eat on a cold winter day. The meat is easy because all you do is cut a pork roast into pieces. This is made in a crock pot but you could easily simmer this in a covered pot on the stove top for about 2 hours. You may need to add more chicken broth if too much of the liquid boils off. I made this for my brother’s wedding dinner and everyone loved it. He told his new wife that I am a really good cook. Thanks Bro!
2. Easy 30 Minute Chicken Tortilla Soup – Clean Eating Recipes
This soup is a staple for our family. I love the flavors but I also love how it is all made in one pot and how quick and easy it is to make. I also like how each member of our family can add their favorite toppings and make it the way they like it.
3. Nourishing Crock Pot Chicken Soup – My Natural Family
I call this chicken soup “nourishing” because it not only has fresh hearty vegetables and juicy tender chicken. You create your own chicken broth by using bone-in chicken thighs.
This soup is made in the crock pot so of course it’s made in one pot. It is loaded with fall off the bone, tender chicken, and bright vegetables. It’s chocked full with juicy, tender chicken besides the hearty vegetables.
This will cure whatever ails you. You could make it more nourishing by adding some additional chicken bones so you can get even more bone broth flavor if you want to.
4. Crock Pot Roast Recipe with a Sugar Free Chimichurri Sauce – My Natural Family
This is my favorite way to make pot roast for three reasons. I cook it in the crockpot which always means it’s easy to make. I start cooking it just before I go to bed or low and it’s done for dinner the next evening.
I always do this with a frozen roast because if you use a thawed out roast it will be cooked too much. The best reason I like this is that of the chimichurri sauce. It’s divine, I could eat it on almost anything.
In fact, I have tried it on a lot of things and it never fails. Don’t add the veggies the night before though. Sometimes I like my vegetables steamed and I don’t put them in the crock pot at all.
It’s just personal preference but it’s really hard to get veggies in the crock pot at the right time and not cook them too much. My advice is “do it your way”.
5. Slow Cooker Beef Stew – My Natural Family
I like making stew now because I always make it in the crock pot. I can cook it all day while I do other things. Then I can have a fantastic meal when it’s dinner time. You can either cook it on low for 8-9 hours or on high for 6 hours.
That gives you flexibility but I have to admit that I prefer cooking my on low for longer. It turns out more tender and I can start it first thing in the morning and get it over with. It’s a great one-pot meal.
6. Crockpot Garlic Honey Chicken – My Natural Family
I like this because it has the veggies, meat, and sauce all in one pot. It is so easy to make and ends up having a tangy and sweet flavor. It has good wholesome ingredients. I like to change it up sometimes and add different vegetables.
Almost any veggie will work but my favorites are green beans, snap peas, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash. You may want to serve it over cauliflower or something like that.
7. Crock Pot Chicken Fajitas – My Natural Family
This chicken in this recipe is really good and really simple, especially if you use pre-made salsa. It’s so easy to make and you can choose how long to cook it and what ingredients to use. You can either cook it on high for 8 hours or low for 4-5 hours. It comes out great either way. It’s a personal preference. It just depends on your time and circumstances.
8. Slow Cooker Cioppino Soup – The Seasoned Mom
Tomatoes – Red Bell Pepper – Onions – Celery – Fish Stock – Tomato Paste – Garlic – Italian Seasoning – Sugar – Bay Leaf – Red Pepper Flakes – Shrimp – Tuna – Crab – Clams – Fresh Bail – Fresh Parsley – Real Salt – Black Pepper
You can really load up on the fish and seafood with this meal. This soup is full of nutritious vegetables, lean protein, and fresh Italian flavors. It’s a meal the entire the family can enjoy and it’s made in one pot. My favorite kind of meal since it goes easy on my dishwasher. Whoever that may be.
9. Crock-Pot Italian Zucchini Meatloaf – Healthy Seasonal Recipes
This is my favorite kind of meatloaf. By that I mean – loaded with vegetables. Of course, the cheese makes it a lot better too. It’s kind of like icing on the cake. It kinda looks like frosting doesn’t it? Well, maybe if you don’t have your glasses on or your contacts in. Whatever the case it looks really good to me.
